Michelle is from Lawrenceville, GA and currently resides in Atlanta. She's an actor, producer, dramaturg, and community organizer, as well as a proud American daughter of immigrants (Korean and Yugoslavian descent). She received her BFA in Theatre Performance from Columbus State University and completed additional studies in Florence, Italy and Oxford, England.
In 2018, Michelle and Amee Vyas founded East by Southeast, an organization dedicated to connecting and supporting Asian artists in Atlanta while creating opportunities to support inclusivity and authentic representation.
Michelle currently serves on the Board of Working Title Playwrights and is quite active in the theatre and film communities.
In response to the social and racial injustice brought forth in 2020, Michelle teamed up with several artist-activist organizations to protest, facilitate, and hold active positions of power accountable. Her relationship with art, social justice, and identity have blended harmoniously into a life and career that have deepened her pillars of gratitude, joy, and passion.
In addition to her work in the arts, she is also instructs a standardized, trauma-informed care curriculum for the well-woman exam nationwide as a Gynecological Teaching Associate at medical, nursing, and PA schools, and assists as a Forensic Teaching Associate for sexual assault trainings.
In the wild, you can probably find her snuggling with her furbaby Apollo or dining at some hole in the wall restuarant where all the best food is usually found.
